Baltimore Comic-Con 2007! Wooooooo!
But not so much really. You'd think as a huge comic nerd Comic-Con would be a huge event for me. It's not though. Comic-Con is little more than an oppurtunity for me to buy comics I can't find elsewhere and get oddball merch at a discount. Which is odd because I had a blast at Otakon this year, and I'm maybe 1/100th as interested in Anime as I am in western comics.
I believe this is because Comic-Con is nothing but press releases and celebrity worship, and these are two things I've never been big on. Otakon has these things as well, but they also have screenings of new and classic animes, panels worth going to, and workshops. The anime community is alos much more fun than the comic community. At otakon I saw perfect strangers walk up to each other and strike up conversation based on their costumes or animes they had just seen. At Comic-Con I saw nerds grumble in general discontent and some guy got mad at me for trying to thumb through the same long box as him.
I haven't been playing a lot of World of Warcraft at all recently. I just got a little burnt out after the 4 weeks of solid lvl grinding I did to get to 60. Plus, all the gold farming I've been doing to get the dough for my epic mount hasn't really been paying off which has been quite disheartening.
I get to hang out with Shannon Tuesday! Joy of joys!
I feel as though I'm on the verge of something great.
